Day 27: The Chilly Routine and Personal Resilience

Returning to the office on Monday after a long, relaxing weekend is always a bit of a transition, but I paced myself and got straight back into the work rhythm. As the day progressed, the weather took a dramatic turn, and by evening, a cold breeze swept through, making the atmosphere incredibly chilly.
### A Cold Test for the Evening Rituals
The drop in temperature set up quite a challenge for my evening routine. Right when I was about to take my bath for the evening pooja, a heavy downpour started outside. The rain instantly turned the water freezing cold. Standing there in the chill, it took a bit of mental strength to power through, but I refused to cut corners. I finished my bath, stood before the deity, and completed my Sandhyavandanam and pooja with a focused mind.
### Managing the Pain
On the physical front, things have been a bit tough. I am still dealing with a persistent shoulder pain that has been making it very difficult to get a comfortable night's sleep. Realizing that rest alone isn't quite fixing it, I've decided that I need to stop delaying and definitely consult a physiotherapist sometime this week to get it sorted out.
After prayers, I enjoyed a warm dinner cooked by Amma—which was perfect for the cold weather—and tried my best to find a comfortable sleeping position to get some rest.
### Today’s Lesson
Lord Ayyappa taught me today that devotion isn't just about the quiet, comfortable moments; it's about pushing through when the water is cold and the body is in pain. Taking care of the physical body is a duty, but keeping the spirit steady through discomfort is the real essence of the Deeksha.
Swamiye Saranam Ayyappa.
