Day 23: The Peace of a Lazy Holiday
## Day 23: The Peace of a Lazy Holiday
Thursday brought the wonderful gift of a completely open holiday. With no office rush or strict alarms to worry about, I allowed my body to get some much-needed rest and woke up a little later than usual. It was the perfect start to a relaxed, slow-paced day.
### Nourishment and Devotion
I took my time in the kitchen, peacefully cooking both breakfast and lunch for myself. Once the cooking was done, I turned my attention to my spiritual routine, completing my morning Sandhyavandanam and pooja with a calm, unhurried mind.
The rest of the afternoon was spent in pure comfort. I stayed in, rested my body, and put on some devotional pravachanams by Sri Chaganti Koteswara Rao. Listening to his vast wisdom while relaxing at home made the holiday feel deeply fulfilling and spiritually enriching.
### A Gentle Close
As evening fell, I kept things wonderfully simple. I steamed a batch of nice, fluffy idlis for dinner, completed my evening prayers, and headed to bed early, feeling completely refreshed and at peace.
### Today’s Lesson
Lord Ayyappa taught me today that rest is also a form of devotion. After days of hard work, sports, and strict schedules, taking a lazy day to recharge the body while keeping the mind centered on spiritual discourses is a beautiful blessing. True discipline knows when to strive, and when to simply rest in the divine presence.
Swamiye Saranam Ayyappa.
