Day 20: Finding Calm in the Routine

Day 20: Finding Calm in the Routine
Monday arrived with its usual rhythm, bringing a bit of those classic Monday blues at the office. After a busy weekend filled with the conference and cricket, transitioning back to the corporate routine felt a little slow and heavy today. The workday was standard and packed with regular tasks, requiring a bit of extra patience to power through the post-weekend sluggishness.
### Keeping the Discipline Steady
Even though the day felt a bit draining externally, I made sure my internal anchors remained steady. I completed my morning and evening Sandhyavandanam and pooja rituals right on time.
There were no massive spiritual realizations or big events today—just a simple, honest effort to show up before the deity and keep the discipline alive. When the mind feels tired from work, sitting down for those few minutes of prayer helps clear out the corporate stress and brings things back into perspective.
### A Simple Evening
After wrapping up work and prayers, I kept the rest of the evening entirely low-key. I had a simple dinner, gave my recovering heel and sore muscles a chance to rest, and decided to head to bed early to recharge for the rest of the week.
### Today’s Lesson
Lord Ayyappa taught me today that discipline is tested most on the ordinary, unexciting days. It is easy to feel inspired when you are winning trophies or walking red carpets, but the real test is showing up with the same devotion when you are just dealing with a regular Monday at work. True growth comes from consistency, no matter what the day looks like.
Swamiye Saranam Ayyappa.
