Day 15: The Balance of Care and Commotion
My morning started on a beautiful and high note. Being a Wednesday—a day that holds a special significance for Swami Ayyappa—I poured extra energy into my morning rituals. The pooja was deep, intense, and filled with a strong sense of focus that set a peaceful tone for my day before I headed into the office.
### Managing the Evening Schedule
Later in the day, I had to visit the doctor for a quick routine checkup on my heel just to ensure everything is healing properly. Because of the timing of the hospital visit and the commute, my evening schedule completely collapsed. I missed my evening Sandhyavandanam, which brought a sense of regret since I try my best to keep the streak going.
Even though I came back home quite late and felt the exhaustion of the day, I refused to let the entire evening slip away. I adjusted my pace, stood before the deity, and completed my evening pooja. Doing the rituals late was a test of patience, but finishing them brought a deep sense of relief.
### Simplifying the Night
After the prayers, I kept things simple in the kitchen, steamed some soft idlis for a light dinner, and decided to let my body get some good rest.
As I lay down to sleep, I turned on the soothing sounds of the Shirdi Saibaba Aarti. Listening to the chants brought back the perfect calm that the hectic evening had stripped away, making it easy to unwind and drift off.
### Today’s Lesson
Lord Ayyappa taught me today that adapting to changes is all a part of this journey. Missing a specific timing like Sandhyavandanam brings regret, but coming home late and still finding the focus to complete the pooja shows true commitment. Purity of intent matters more than a perfect clock.
Swamiye Saranam Ayyappa.
