Day 13: Pulling Through the Pain

After the high energy and big wins of Sunday, Monday arrived with a heavy physical tax. Day 13 was all about facing the aftermath of playing through three injuries. Every muscle in my body was locked in deep soreness, and moving around the house felt like a massive task.
Despite the heavy pain, I made sure not to compromise on my core discipline. I woke up and completed my morning Sandhyavandanam and pooja rituals before starting the day.
### The Comfort of WFH
Knowing the physical state I was in, my manager was kind enough to let me Work From Home. Not having to commute or navigate the office layout with a bruised heel and sore muscles was a huge relief. Because of that flexibility, my office tasks went smoothly, and I was able to manage my professional duties right from my desk without pushing my body over the edge.
It was a quiet, steady day of work, focused entirely on delivering what was needed while giving my body a chance to rest in one place.
### Reconnecting in the Evening
Because the last two days were incredibly rushed with early morning alarms, travel, and intense cricket matches, I felt my mental focus during my prayers hadn't been where it needed to be. I was physically present, but my mind was split.
To make up for it, I dedicated myself to a vigorous, deeply focused pooja in the evening. I took my time, cleared my head of all distractions, and poured my complete energy into the rituals. It felt incredible to finally slow down, reconnect, and refresh my mind after a chaotic weekend. I managed to pull off a very tough, sore day through sheer consistency.
### Today’s Lesson
Lord Ayyappa taught me today that discipline isn't just about pushing through major challenges; it is about holding your ground during the quiet recovery phases too. When the adrenaline fades and the physical pain sets in, sticking to your daily rituals is what builds true grit.
Swamiye Saranam Ayyappa.
