Day 12: Triumph Through the Thorns
If Day 11 was the storm of preparation, Day 12 was the day of ultimate triumph. Today was Sunday, the big finals, and it turned out to be a day I will remember for the rest of my life.
My alarm went off at the unforgiving hour of 4:00 AM. With my mother away, the reality of this new phase hit immediately. But with the incredible help of my uncle, we navigated the dawn rush. Together, we got my lunch packed according to the strict Deeksha guidelines, ensuring I carried my own pure food to the tournament. I left the house with a prayer on my lips, completely unaware of the success that was about to unfold on the cricket pitch.
### Three Injuries, One Man of the Series
We didn't just play today; we won the entire tournament against all odds. Looking back at how the day unfolded, it feels surreal. I was playing with three distinct, nagging injuries, including my bruised heel, but the moment I stepped onto the field, a strange, positive energy took over. The pain didn't disappear, but I managed to look past it.
I played the matches of my life. By the time the final presentation ceremony concluded, I was holding three Man of the Match awards, the Player of the Match trophy for the finals, and the prestigious Man of the Series title. Standing there with the trophies in my hands, wearing my Swami Mala, my heart swelled with a singular thought: This isn't just my effort. This is entirely His grace.
### The Aftermath and the Anchor
When I finally returned home in the evening, the adrenaline faded, and the physical exhaustion caught up with me. Every single muscle was screaming in soreness. The tiredness was so heavy that I crashed and slept through the late afternoon.
But the real victory of Day 12 didn't happen on the cricket ground. It happened when I woke up from that deep sleep. Every fiber of my body begged me to just stay in bed and skip the evening rituals. My muscles were locking up, and the temptation to give in was massive. Instead, I dragged myself out of bed. I refused to miss my pooja. As I lit the lamp and sat down, a profound sense of gratitude washed over me. It is easy to pray when you are asking for help; it is even more important to pray when you are celebrating a win.
### Today’s Lesson
Lord Ayyappa taught me today that when you leave your worries to Him, He gives you the strength to overcome your physical limits. I entered this tournament wounded, tired, and managing a household on my own. Yet, He didn't just let me survive the day—He let me perform at my absolute best. All the trophies, the accolades, and the cheers belong at His lotus feet. Thank you, Ayyappa, for carrying me across the finish line when my own legs couldn't.
Swamiye Saranam Ayyappa.
