Day 10: The Quarter-Mile Milestone

Day 10: The Quarter-Mile Milestone
Today marks a significant milestone in my journey—Day 10. They say it takes ten days to truly break an old habit and form a new one, and as I sit back tonight, I realize I am officially one-fourth of the way through my Mandala Deeksha.
The initial shock to the system has faded, and I’m slowly getting the hang of this new rhythm. The cold showers, the early mornings, and the restricted diet no longer feel like "rules"—they are starting to feel like a lifestyle.

The Power of Support
Being a WFH day, things were a bit more settled. With the immense help of my mother, who has been the silent backbone of this entire process, everything was sorted. Having her support in the kitchen and the household allows me to focus my energy where it belongs: on the Sadhana.
Today as every day, I managed to perform my Sandhyavandanam twice. Each time I sit for it, the Yajur Veda mantras feel a little less like a puzzle and a little more like a conversation. I’m moving past the "1.5x speed" learning phase and starting to feel the actual vibrations of the words.

The Impact of Discipline
The biggest challenge of the last ten days hasn't been physical; it’s been mental. I am slowly beginning to understand the true impact of this Deeksha. It’s not just about what you don't do (like skipping the IPL or movies); it’s about what you become in the space those things used to occupy. There is a newfound clarity in my thoughts and a steadiness in my actions that wasn't there ten days ago.

The Road Ahead: 4:45 AM Calling
Even though I celebrated my milestone today, there is no room for complacency. Tomorrow is another big day—I have a cricket tournament and I need to be up and ready by 4:45 AM.

Tonight’s sleep isn't just rest; it’s preparation. I need to finish my pooja, clear my mind, and get my body ready for the physical demands of the pitch while keeping my spirit anchored in the Deeksha.

Today’s Lesson:
"A milestone is not a place to stop, but a place to realize how much further you are capable of going." One-fourth of the journey is done, and the strength I’ve gained in these ten days is the fuel I’ll use for the rest of the climb.

Current State:
Milestone: 25% completed.
Spirit: Anchored and growing.
Goal: 4:45 AM wakeup for the tournament.
Swamiye Saranam Ayyappa.
